The movie connected very well with the urban youth for contemporary themes, and chart-topping music, especially songs like "Tumhi Ho Bandhu" and "Daaru Desi." These things made Cocktail both a critical and commercial success.

There are times when the audience gives an amazing reaction to the movie but at the same time or later on, gives a response that even though the movie was good, the climax could’ve been better.
