Sony gears up for AmberDhara

In keeping with the channel's core positioning, Sony Entertainment Television announced its next baby in the 9 p.m band. <em>AmberDhara</em>, the channel's new offering is a heartwarming story of two conjoined twins, who grow up as strong distinct personalities. The daily produced by Sidharth Tewary and Vikas Sethi will hit the airwaves from September 24.

Anuj goes down south

Doctor turned actor, Anuj Saxena who rose to fame as Abhay in Balaji's <em>Kkusum,</em> is a man who dons many caps with ease. Apart from being Marketing Director of Elder Pharmaceuticals and CEO of Maverick Productions, he recently turned a restaurateur. Sun. Sand. And a charming Anuj Saxena. The potent combination charmed paparazzi from several countries who converged at the Majestic beach in Cannes in the south of France for a photo call with the TV star, who's scouting for business at the ongoing MipTV. Despite big international stars shooting currently in Nice and Cannes, more than 15 photographers representing diverse publications turned up for the photo shoot on a bright Wednesday afternoon near the Palais de Festivals, the venue of the biggest television content market.

Anuj Saxena makes waves in Cannes

Now it is the turn of Anuj Saxena - Abhay Kapoor of <em>Kkusum</em> fame - to make waves in Cannes where he is attending the MipTV festival - the world's largest audiovisual content market. With his week old stubble, he has been bowling over all the women at Cannes with his dark good looks and sharp business mind. The actor who arrived in the French Riviera resort yesterday ate a quiet Indian meal for dinner last night at Shri Vishnu restaurant on Rue Georges Clemanceau with close friends. But he is not going to have his privacy for long.

What's happening in Kumkum?

It's held strong among the top 50 shows on television for nearly three years now, inspite of never succumbing to the lure of a TRP tempting 'leap'. But afternoon show <em>Kumkum</em> seems to be swimming in troubled waters currently, although the production house promises that the show is poised for a high point by the end of February. The BAG Films serial had its entire creative unit changed, right from the director to the scriptwriters. This happened soon after Anuj Saxena was brought back into the show as the sophisticated Jatin in early December.

Anuj Saxena resurfaces in Kumkum on Thursday

Out of <em>Kkusum</em>, and back to <em>Kumkum</em> - that's Anuj Saxena for you. The doctor-turned-industrialist-turned-actor quit the Sony show when it was on its last legs recently. Now he makes a comeback to Star Plus' <em>Kumkum- Pyara Sa Bandhan</em> from 24 November 24, as Karan kapoor, a guy who has a striking resemblance to Jatin, the character Anuj played earlier. Jatin is Kumkum's first husband who is shown dead in the show and now Anuj will be seen in the show as Karan, an NRI tycoon keen to do business with Sumeet.

Sarrkkar to witness a new time slot?

It's that time of the year when popular shows are being delegated to time slots that belies their so called 'popular' status. <em>Kkusum, Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin</em> are shows that once were channel drivers, but have since been slotted to a not so respectable time slot. According to our sources, the next in line is Zee's <em>Sarrkkar</em>, which will be relegated to the afternoon slot soon. Producer Manish Goswami neither denied it nor conformed the news. The stars of the show seemed puzzled by the turn of events.
