Reliance Animation’s Krishna Aur Kans has won the Asifa Special Jury Award in the best animation and special effects film category. The film has been directed by Vikram Veturi. <em>Krishna Aur Kans</em>, India’s first stereoscopic animated feature film has already won rave reviews due to its amazing animation quality and excellent storytelling. The film is also the first true family entertainer among Indian animated feature films.

The 3D animated feature film Krishna Aur Kans has been declared tax-free in six states including Maharashtra. Produced by Reliance Animation, the film, which released on Friday has been declared tax-free in Punjab, Rajasthan, Kerala, Chhattisgarh and West Bengal. Other states like Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Karnataka, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh are also considering the proposal.

Term it an irony of sorts or a quirk of fate; fact is that international pornstar Sunny Leone’s much-anticipated sex-romp Jism 2 will clash with a cute 3D animation film called Krishna Aur Kans this week. While the all-pervading Lord Krishna will fight the devilish mythological villain Kans in the latter, the movie which happens to be India’s first stereoscopic animated feature film, will also have to battle the stiff competition at the box-office as audiences are wishing to check out the debut of the famed adult sensation Sunny.

Krishna Aur Kans, the 3D animated film, based on the timeless tale of Lord Krishna, is all set to release in four different languages on 3 August 2012.
