Will Star's stars shine on Zee too?

Gurdeep Kohli, Rohit Roy, Ronit Roy, Akashdeep Saigal and Rajeev Khandelwal. No we are not talking about the cast of another Star network soap. This is the latest 'star' attraction on Zee. With <em>Sinndoor Tere Naam Ka</em>, Gurdip Kohli was the first actor to shift from Star to Zee. Others followed in her footsteps. Audiences noticed brothers Ronit and Rohit Roy in Manish Goswami's <em>Sarrkkar</em> hopping over from Star and Sony respectively.

Is Amar Upadhyay picking at dregs?

Amar Upadhyay, the hearthrob who once stole millions of hearts with his portrayal of Mihir in <em>Kyunki</em>, will be back on two Balaji serials shortly, months after confirming his readiness to enter the Ekta Kapoor camp once again. The cute looking actor will play Ronit Roy's brother in <em>Kasautii Zindagi Kay</em> and a doc in <em>Kkusum</em>. That Rohit Roy was the original choice to play reel sibling to his real bro is now known, but not many know that the role of doc in <em>Kkusum</em> is believed to be originally offered to Rajeev 'Sujal' Khandelwal.

Kyunki's Shobha down on her back

Star Parivaar Awards has ended with galore and fun. Most actors could be a part of the gala nite except for the little lady who won the 'Best Nanand (sister-in-law) award'. Ritu Choudhary who plays Shobha in <em>Kyunki</em>... has been confined to her bed since three weeks. She has a back ailment. "One day, I was getting out from my car and couldn't walk any further. I consulted my doctor only to realise that something has gone wrong in the muscle in my back," explains Ritu, flashing her soft smile.

Riva Bubber to play Smriti in 'K Street...'

Having beaten Gauri Pradhan to the winning post in <em>Kkavyanjali</em>, Riva is sailing really well. She now enters <em>K Street, Pali Hill</em>. The petite Damini of <em>Kyunki</em>... will play Smriti of <em>K Street</em>...! Does that imply that Jassi Kaur will be out of <em>K Street</em>...? For not so long ago, there were rumours flying thick and fast that Jassi will be replaced. Says Jassi. "No way. But yes, I will be playing a different character."

Riva Bubber beats Gauri Pradhan to 'Kkavyanjali'

Riva Bubber will play a cameo in Ekta Kapoor's <em>Kkavyanjali</em> on Star Plus. Till last night, the role, we have it on authority, was going to Gauri Pradhan. When contacted today at 3 pm, Riva acknowledged that she had been confirmed for the role by Balaji's creative director Saket just this afternoon. "I received a call just 45 minutes ago. I am on my way to honour my first day of shoot in this serial," she said.

Ronit Roy chooses Manish Goswami over Ekta Kapoor

Balaji scripts Rekha Modi's exit

The verdict is finally out from the Ekta camp. Rekha Modi is out of <em>Kyunki</em>…for good! "Yes, she will no longer write for <em>Kyunki</em>…No one is indispensable," says Shivangi Singh Chauhan, creative head of the serial. Although Rekha's fate is sealed as far as this serial is concerned, a decision is yet to be reached regarding other serials that she is a part of.

Achint Kaur to re-enter 'Kyunki...'

Star Plus and Balaji's <em>Kyunki</em>...never seems to lose its steam. And Tulsi's (Smriti Z Iraani) problems never seem to end. In a new twist to the story, Achint Kaur will return as Mandira.Guess what! She will be either Aditya Gujral's (Ansh's so-called dad) keep or wife. This factor is still to be decided. The track has been worked out. Mandira will get Gautam (Sumeet Sachdev) kidnapped and demand her son Karan (Hiten Tejwani) back in return.

'The police slapped me': Rekha Modi

will the <em>Kyunki</em>... dialogue-writer Rekha Modi be retained by Balaji Telefilms? Or will she be shown the door? That's what everybody wants to know. At the time of posting, Rekha herself is apparentlyunaware. "I had a meeting with Ekta Kapoor last night. But I can't tell you where I am headed for," she says in a voice quivering with emotion. "I don't know why Smriti did this to me. I am flummoxed. She was a dear friend. Anyway, now I think that she never was a friend."Could she rewind, that is, if we aren't rubbing salt into her wounds?

Ba to play granny on 'Ye meri life hai'

Better known as Ba for over four years now, Sudha Shivpuri is going for a different look once her character in <em>Kyunki</em>… ends within two months. She's about to switch channels and play granny on Sony's <em>Ye Meri Life Hai</em>. But no, you won't see her in the trademark pastel silk saris, this time she's sporting a much younger look with salwar kameezes. Sudha Shivpuri is all excited about her new role.
