Lifetime Achievement award
The 5th edition of Nashik International Film Festival (NIFF) yesterday presented the Lifetime Achievement Award 2012 to veteran filmmaker, actor Manoj Kumar. Kumar was presented with the award by producer, director Kiran Shantaram.
Manoj Kumar, known for his superhit films like <em>Upkar, Purab aur Paschim, Shor</em> and <em>Kranti</em> received the award consisting of Rs one lakh in cash, a memento and a citation.
Accepting the award, Kumar expressed concern over the degrading quality of Hindi cinema in recent times.

The Laadli Media Awards for gender sensitivity, scheduled to be held on 5 February (2013) at the NCPA (Mumbai), will honour Indian cinema's most revered costume designer, Bhanu Athaiya with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Nana Patekar has refused to accept a Lifetime Achievement Award. According to the veteran, people making beneficial contributions to the society merit such awards and not him.
"Anybody and everybody gets up and forms any organisation and institutes a Lifetime Achievement Award and they also accept it," Patekar said without identifying anyone. The 62-year-old actor was speaking at a function organised by Thane police.

The forthcoming 14th Mumbai Film Festival has decided to honour yesteryear veteran actress Waheeda Rehman with the Lifetime Achievement Award at an eight-day film extravaganza which starts on 18 October.
“This year we have decided to award the Lifetime Achievement Award to Waheeda Rehman for the extraordinary work she has put in the last 60 years,” Shyam Benegal, filmmaker and MAMI chairman said in a statement.
