Auditions for Swastik Pictures' Mahabharata commence across India

<a href=http://www.tellychakkar.com/interviews/i-am-fearless-and-adventurous-person-siddharth-kumar-tewary>Siddharth Tewary</a>’s Swastik Pictures’ ambitious project Mahabharata on Star Plus created quite a buzz in the media initially. There were reports that the show went on floors, but after that the hue and cry died down. But now we have learned that this epic series has received a go ahead from the channel and its casting is currently in progress. And to pick the best faces, the makers are conducting auditions across major cities in the country.

The race to heaven

The channel war hots up and how. Earlier channels were fighting each other over <em>saas bahu </em> serials. Then came the comedy brigade. After which it was reality shows, which will predictably still continue in 08. And as the new channels spring up by the day on unsuspecting audiences programming heads pull out all the stops to leverage their channel. One such valiant effort to resurrect old channels and infuse new blood in recently launched channels is through mythologicals.

A vamp with a difference

Parthiv Patel visits Saarthi set

It was a normal day of shoot for the unit of Neela Telefilm's <em>Saarthi</em> until they saw Parthiv Patel among the onlookers applauding the shots. The young wicket-keeper kept saying he loves the serial and watches it whenever possible. Since he was in town for a short visit he decided to meet the crew of his favorite serial. Producer Asit Modi tells us, "Parthiv gave us a pleasant surprise dropping down at the set. He kept appreciating the actors for their work. We all wish him good luck with his bright career."
