Meri Doli Tere Angana

After braving through several hiccups (lead actress Priyamvada and lead actor Gaurav Khanna quitting the show <em> Meri Doli Tere Angana</em> that airs at 2:00 pm on Zee is finally going off air. The reason behind the show’s pull off is the souring relation between the channel and the production house and the budget allocated informs our source.

The actor who is going to replace Gaurav Khanna in <em> Meri Doli Tere Angana </em> is Sachin Chabra. He is the one who has done the Tata Tea ad where he asks a politician about his educational qualifications. Akhilesh (Supervising Producer) says, “We have selected Sachin on account of his Tata Tea ad. He had also approached us earlier for a different role when we were revamping the show but the channel did not find him fitting the bill.”

Gaurav Khanna who plays the lead on Zee’s <em> Meri Doli Tere Angana</em> has exited the show. The production house, Filmtonic Entertainment is now looking for a replacement.

In a bid to rake in higher TRPs, Zee’s <em> Meri Doli Tere Angana</em> went for a complete overhaul, replacing the plot and all its actors barring the male protagonist Gaurav Khanna. The lead protagonists Ruhan (Gaurav Khanna) and Simran (Priyamvada) are shot and the latter is declared dead. Surprisingly, all the other characters too were unceremoniously dumped. However, this upheaval hasn’t gone down well with the fans. Some of them have expressed their disappointment through e-mails on our site.

The actor cum producer always wanted to try his hand at direction and with <em> Meri Doli Tere Angana</em> it seems his wish has been fulfilled. He directed one song sequence for the same show. This handsome hunk is also producing a show for national broadcaster Doordarshan - <em> Chukar Mere Man Ko.</em>

After tasting success with Zee's <em> Meri Doli Tere Angana,</em> producer Rahul Bhatt has already rolled out his second show for DD1. Titled <em> Chukar Mere Man Ko,</em> the bi-monthly (Thurs-Fri) is a socio-realistic drama about the trials and tribulations of three young protagonists in Mumbai. "It's a realistic show but the treatment will be very entertaining. The basic concept bridges the cultural gap between a town and a city like Mumbai," reveals Rahul Bhatt.

Sexy lass Sanah Khan who rose to fame after the Amul Macho ad will soon be seen shaking her hips on a item number in Zee's <em>Meri Doli Tere Anagana</em> this week. Though not a professional dancer, Sanah chose to oblige her choreographer friend's call. " Habiba Rehman is a close friend and so I couldn't refuse her. I'm not a professional dancer plus this is a one-off thing. I was only obliging Habiba's call and as I don't aspire to be an item girl, " she says.
