The movie is a sci-fi mythological genre which is rare in Indian cinema and can be said Kalki 2898 AD might be the only movie in the genre. The story is heavily based on the Epic Mahabharata. This is where the movie has joined a club as before this, there were some movies which were based or had a concept of Mahabharata incorporated in a unique way.
