Somewhere in the re-telling of the saga of bloodbath, torrential shower of bullets and bombs that rained down on Mumbai on 26 November 2008 a little child sitting lost amidst a carpet of corpses in the posh hotel lobby of the Taj weeps on the gleaming white marble floor now reduced to a bloodied mess. We then hear another round of gunfire and then, the child’s weeping ceases.

It was literally a case of the ill will being washed away in a wave of tears when the Big B, Amitabh Bachchan viewed Ram Gopal Varma’s latest project The Attacks On 26/11 . The Big B was so profoundly moved by the film and Nana Patekar’s performance as top-cop Rakesh Maria that he immediately got in touch with Nana to congratulate him.
A surprise for Nana, since he and the Big B have not exactly been on the best of terms ever since they worked together 13 years ago in Mehul Kumar’s Kohram.

Nana Patekar has refused to accept a Lifetime Achievement Award. According to the veteran, people making beneficial contributions to the society merit such awards and not him.
"Anybody and everybody gets up and forms any organisation and institutes a Lifetime Achievement Award and they also accept it," Patekar said without identifying anyone. The 62-year-old actor was speaking at a function organised by Thane police.

It is not often that a hit combo comes back to make yet another super hit.
Paresh Rawal and Nana Patekar are coming back together in Percept Pictures’ Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal (KDM) directed by Priyadarshan all set to hit the marquee on 28 September. “Nana has a very unusual role in the film. He normally sets the screen afire with his dialogue delivery but this time it is his silence that will score,” remarks Paresh.

In fact Puri gets immensely annoyed at somebody when he calls Nana Patekar Buddha. “How can you call him an oldie? He is my son from my last birth,” he goes on to add. Nana on the other hand keeps teasing Om Puri for his continual sleeping habits and grins that the senior actor can sleep even in the pauses between words!

“They even communicated. The baby goat seemed to understand every word the actor said and nodded its head,” said a crew member.
