Nautanki Saala

Film Review: Nautanki Saala

Starring: Ayushmann Khurrana, Kunal Roy Kapoor,Evelyn Sharma, Pooja Salvi,Gaelyn Mendoca Directed by Rohan Sippy Rating: *** If it is any consolation, Rohan Sippy’s latest presentation is far more cohesively constructed and sure of its raison d’?tre than his last film Dum Maro Dum which bumped off its protagonist half an hour before The End.

Evelyn Sharma toys with Ayushmann Khurrana's heart

During the shoot of Nautanki Saala's latest hit song Dil Ki Toh Lag Gayi, Ayushmann Khurrana is said to have stolen one or two looks too much at newbie Evelyn Sharma's sexy curves. Can we blame him? After our hearts went dhak dhak for her hot dance performance in the famous Madhuri Dixit remake Dhak Dhak Karne Laga, Evelyn is now seducing us with sparkling eyes and slender moves in a Moulin Rouge kind of act, wrapping Ayushmann around her little finger.

But to give her that special pep and charm, is none other than ex-superstar Madhuri Dixit’s nineties chartbuster Dhak Dhak Karne Laga from Beta. One can easily remember those days when the junta went mad over Madhuri’s bust-thrusts in the song.

Musical war between Sippy and Bhushan....Reason? Ayushmann Khurana

Unwittingly, Ayushmann Khurrana’s decision to sing and compose at least one song in all his starrers has triggered off a conflict of interest between the producer Bhushan Kumar and the director Rohan Sippy of Nautanki Saala. The bone of contention is the new-age sound that Rohan wants to create through the voices of Ayushmann and other young singers, and the more conventional film songs that Bhushan Kumar’s company has been patenting since the 1990s.

Kunal Kohli signs Ayushman Khurana for his next

With one hit in Hum Tum and two mediocre releases like Teri Meri Kahaani and Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic behind him, Kunal Kohli is trying to play safe by casting a successful newcomer rather than an established actor. In the process, Kunal has signed Ayushman Khurana to play the lead in his yet-to-be named rom-com. While it is certain that Ayushman will play the lead, the director is on the search of an A list actress to star opposite him. A unit member of Kunal’s office, however, points out hat the maker is considering Diana Penty and Ileana D'Cruz for the role opposite him.
