Anupam Kher feels that someone should come up with a novel based on his 1984 hit film <em>Saraansh</em>.
"I think a novel on <em>Saraansh</em> should come up. It will make a great story... as it is about the relationship between parents and their son. It will be a good story to read in novel format," Kher observes.
<em>Saaransh</em> was a story of an old Mumbai-based Maharashtrian couple coming to terms with the death of their only son who is killed in a mugging incident in New York, The film marked the screen debut of Anupam Kher.

While recently launching Munmun Ghosh’s novel Unhooked, Vidya Balan said that she identifies with the author's novel and would love to do a film based on the book.
Launching the book, the <em>Dirty Picture</em> actress said that this was the first novel she had read in three years. She however, hurriedly, went on to state that her involvement in any film based on the novel would depend on who made it and how it was interpreted.
