Nupur Alankar aka Halki bua of <em> Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyaan</em> had an unpleasant experience at a local bank today when she had to pay the price of being a celebrity, by becoming subject to the overtures of an elderly man. Nupur says, “There was a long queue and behind me there was a man in his late sixties who was continuously staring at me. I felt very uneasy and decided to shift away from him. At one point when it became unbearable, I requested the man to move ahead of me to which he blatantly refused.”

Nupur Alankar aka Halki bua of <em> Ghar Ki Laxmi Betiyaan</em> is known for her golden heart. Nupur has been helping the needy and today she is helping a 16 month old deaf and dumb kid by collecting cash for his operation. Nupur says, “My dress designer Saba from <em> Ek Chabhi Hai Pados Mein ,</em> told me about Mr. Muzammil, who needs 10 lakhs for his child’s operation. His only son named Mohd. Qasim is deaf and dumb by birth. His father who is an agent with a small time ayurvedic shop cannot afford the surgery.”

Nupur Alankar who essays the role of Halki Bua in Zee’a <em> Ghar Ki Laxmi-Betiyaan</em> is one actress who has her heart in the right place. Nupur believes in helping people in need and does a lot of charity. It is reported that Arzoo Khan who is a body double for Aishwarya Narkar (mother of the four daughters in the serial) and Twinkle Bajpai (Laxmi in Zee’s<em> Betiyaan</em>) is suffering from uterus cancer. She required an amount of 1.5 lakhs for the operation. When Nupur heard this she decided to do something to help Arzoo.
