While fans were happy to finally see them married, the wedding also generated a buzz as his father, actor-politician Raj Babbar and the rest of the Babbar family were not present at the wedding. Now, in a surprising move, the newlywed couple has acknowledged complication of the situation.

The actors got married on the occasion of Valentine's Day at Prateik's mother late Smita Patil's residence in Mumbai in the presence of close family and friends. Prateik and Priya opted for beautiful ivory outfits by designer Tarun Tahiliani and looked extremely beautiful together.

Shyam Benegal's Manthan was screened at the Cannes Film Festival at the Cannes Classics segment on Friday. Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah and Prateik Babbar were seen attending the screening, as they walked the red carpet.

Prateik’s mom Smita Patil was a brilliant actress of her time till her untimely death in 1986. The actress’s classic film Manthan also starring Naseeruddin Shah, Girish Karnad, and Amrish Puri among others is all set to be showcased at the film festival.

According to reports, Prateik and Priya are not currently holding a lavish engagement celebration. It is said to happen concurrently with the wedding. Prateik has talked about his relationship with Priya in a previous interview.
