According to the latest updates, Laapataa Ladies is now India’s official entry Oscars in the Best Foreign Film Category 2025. While Kiran Rao expressed her happiness in an emotional note, Aamir Khan too expressed how proud he is of the team.

Presented by Jio Studios, 'Laapataa Ladies' is directed by Kiran Rao and produced by Aamir Khan and Jyoti Deshpande. Made under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions and Kindling Productions, the script is based on an award-winning story by Biplab Goswami.

The film garnered tremendous love from both audiences and critics during its theatrical and OTT release and today, there was a screening of Laapataa Ladies at the Supreme Court of India in the presence of producers Aamir Khan and director Kiran Rao.

Pratibha Ranta is amongst the gorgeous batch of newcomer actors in the industry. She performed the role of the fiery 'Jaya' in the film, Laapataa Ladies. And just after this, she showed her versatility by portraying the role of 'Waheeda' (Sanjeeda Shaikh)’s daughter, 'Shama', in the web series, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar.

She has been in several popular films, including Taish, Fighter, and most recently, Heeramandi. She was formerly married to actor Amir Ali in her personal life, and the two welcomed their daughter Ayra into the world in 2020 via surrogacy. Unfortunately, in 2021, Sanjeeda and Amir parted ways.
