Shootout at Wadala will now release on 3 May

The release of White Feather Films and Balaji Telefilms’ Shootout at Wadala has been postponed to 3 May (2013). The action crime drama, directed by Sanjay Gupta, is the prequel to 2007 hit film <em>Shootout at Lokhandwala</em> and is based on the book <em>Dongri to Dubai</em>. The film dramatises the first-ever registered encounter by Mumbai police, where gangster Manya Surve (played by John Abraham) was shot dead at Wadala in 1982.

Vir Das has as many as seven films lined up for release

Stand-up comedian and actor Vir Das, who was last seen in Aamir Khan’s Delhi Belly, has as many as seven films releasing this year (2013). Though, Vir had made his acting debut with <em>Mumbai Salsa</em> and followed it up with films like <em>Namastey London, Love Aaj Kal</em> and <em>Badmaash Company</em>, it was only on the Aamir Khan home production that he came into the eyes of the masses.

The Croods releasing on 19 April

The Croods, a joint production of Fox Star Studios and DreamWorks, is scheduled to release on 19 April (2013) all over India. Eros takes a cue from YRF; to release Om Shanti Om in Japan on 16 March

If Yash Raj Films (YRF) takes a lead, can Eros International stay behind? Seeing YRF successfully releasing its Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif-starrer <em>Ek Tha Tiger</em> in Japan on 8 March with much fanfare, Eros International Media Ltd. Salman Khan defies Eid release with Dabaang 2 releasing during Christmas this year

Since the last couple of years, Salman Khan’s films have been releasing around Eid. The exercise started with <em>Wanted</em> (2010), <em>Dabangg</em> (2010), <em>Ready</em> (2011), <em>Bodyguard</em> (2011) and the latest <em>Ek Tha Tiger</em>. But nit any more, he has articulated a change. His next <em>Dabangg 2</em> is set for a Christmas release. It may be remembered that 23 years ago his first-ever blockbuster <em>Maine Pyar Kiya</em> on 29 December, 1989. <em>Dabangg 2</em> is set to hit theatres on 21 December 12.
