The Hindi film industry’s Big daddy Yash Raj Films recently made its television debut with five new shows on Sony Television. <em>Powder, Mahi Way, Lift Kara De, Seven</em> and <em>Rishta.com</em> were hyped a lot but going by the initial episodes, they seem to have done nothing to stir the viewers. It has been three weeks since their launch, but the shows have failed to generate viewer interest. The initial ratings have not been very encouraging and looks like they have not succeeded in giving Sony the much-needed shot in the arm.

Sony television’s Seven by Yash Raj’s is a first sci-fi action-adventure show. It also marks Shama Sikander’s return to television. Shama earlier shot to fame with <em>Yeh Meri Life Hai</em> on Sony. She left the small screen to try her hand at films. The show is basically about good v/s evil, revisited in the modern-day context. For a change, it seems to be a departure from tackily made shows with over-dressed supermen and superwomen.
