Noted humorist, producer of sitcoms and prominent director and actor Jaspal Bhatti passed away last night (24 October 2012) in a road accident in Jalandhar. He, along with his son Jasraj and co-actress Surilee Gautam were on a promotional tour of Punjab for their film <em>Power Cut</em>. Bhatti was dear to everyone he worked with. We got in touch with a few television actors who had the privilege of spending some moments (personal and professional) with him. The actors were in pain as they spoke about the humble human.

Says Shakti, “I am out of town with my family and will only be returning on 15 October. It’s family time for me as Neeti’s song from <em>Jab Tak Hai Jaan</em> has been released. So, it’s a dual celebration for me. I just wish success and happiness for everyone. I love all my fans and wish to thank all of them for all the love and support they have given me.”

The actor, who is currently playing Sid in Colors’ Uttaran, is all set to spread his wings and appear in an episodic in Sony Entertainment’s Adaalat produced by Contiloe Telefilms. “I will play the role of a big business tycoon, Neeraj Mahendru, who has been put behind the bars for murdering his girlfriend,” confirms the actor.

We had a big bungalow back home in Patiala. And I utilized the backyard, to play cricket and keep my pets. And I had many pets; I had dogs, guinea pigs, ducks, rabbits and different kinds of birds. So my house used to be full of animals.

Sharhaan will make life hell for the lead actress, Priyal Gor. A source informs, “He is playing a negative character. He will be shown deeply in love with Priyal who loves someone else. He will then start troubling and harassing her. His character is similar to Sid’s character in <em>Uttaran</em>.”
