YRF to produce Shekhar Kapur's Paani

Yash Raj Films (YRF) has joined hands with Shekhar Kapur to produce his ambitious project Paani. Talking about his association with YRF, Kapur said, "I have been preparing for this film for a long time, but always wanted an Indian partner that has the same passion for the film as I do. I have finally found one in Adi (Aditya Chopra). It’s a huge production that demands futuristic sets and large action pieces. In Yash Raj Films, I have found a perfect home for <em>Paani.</em>"

Shekhar Kapur asked to helm sequel of Mr India

All these days, we have been hearing of a sequel of Mr India. But now, Boney Kapoor has decided to go ahead with the sequel that would be directed by Shekhar Kapur, who had directed the original way back in 1987. If that is not all, the film’s original leading couple Anil Kapoor and Sridevi will also be a part of the project though not in the lead roles. They will portray important characters. It is also reported that Salman Khan would be a part of the project. According to sources, the <em>Dabangg</em> star will be seen in his first negative role in the film.

Danny Boyle to produce Shekhar Kapur's Paani

After getting worldwide acclaim for The Slumdog Millionaire, director Danny Boyle has decided to turn producer for Shekhar Kapur’s ambitious project <em>Paani</em> starring Hrithik Roshan, Though the project was formally announced at the 63rd Cannes International Film Festival in 2010, but Kapur has now confirmed that he will start shooting his ambitious film in April next year (2013). “Right now, I am doing the organisation-related work before I start actual filming in April next year,” said Kapur in confirmation.

Shekhar Kapur opines issue on water to be put on social network

Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, who is making Paani based on water scarcity with Hrithik Roshan in the lead, feels one’s awareness about the issue could be spread through social networking websites. The 66-year-old was speaking at The Water Landscape, a panel discussion with reference to water scarcity, at the ongoing 12th Osian's Cinefan Film Festival yesterday.
