After Arjun Rampal’s denial, Amit Mehra, the producer of the remake of the Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Zanjeer, Sonu Sood has been approached once again for playing the iconic role of Sher Khan in the film. Confirming that he has been approached for the role, Sonu said, "Yes I have been approached for the role of Sher Khan. But nothing has been finalised yet. I have not confirmed the project on paper yet," Sonu told us. It may be remembered that Pran had given a memorable performance as Sher Khan in Prakash Mehra's 1973 hit <em>Zanjeer</em>.

Even before Salman Khan’s mandatory Eid release for 2012 is out, his Eid 2013 project has just been finalized. Salman wants his brother Sohail Khan’s Sher Khan to be his Eid 2013 release. And Sohail who had no clue about Salman’s plans (probably because Salman himself doesn’t know what Salman is planning) is thrown into a frenzy to finish post-production and start shooting to make it into the Eid deadline.

It’s going to be Angela after all. The lovely model-actress has been in search of a launch-pad in Bollywood for a very long time. In the process she got embroiled in a series of link-ups that did no service to her career as a movie actress. In fact, she all but lost the chance to be launched opposite Salman Khan in <em>Sher Khan</em> because of her frequent forays into Page 3. But all is not lost. Now we hear Angela is back in <em>Sher Khan</em>, especially on Salman Khan’s recommendation.

The brilliant Salim-Javed duo gave to Hindi cinema some of its most important films in the 1970s and 80s before they parted ways. Since then Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar have been individually active in various creative capacities. Salim <em>saab</em>, as he is widely known in the film industry, has always been there as a script consultant for various young filmmakers and writers.

Yesterday’s (25 June 2012) report that Salman Khan has been advised to stay off action sequences due to his neurological condition has upset the industry. The advice comes at a time when most of Salman’s films namely Dabangg 2, Ek Tha Tiger or the upcoming Sohail Khan film Sher Khan are all action-oriented.
