Sony

An eye opener for Gourav

The fair and handsome, Gourav Chanana who plays a skirt chaser in Sony's Rishton Ki Dorr isn't doing full justice to his character. It appears he has taken an old hit song "Teri aankoh ke sivah duniya mein rakha kya hai" very seriously. For those who are not avid watchers of Rishton…here's an update. Gourav seems be conveying his emotions, excessively through his light-coloured eyes. Even in scenes when it isn't required! Agreed that they convey a lot, especially in romantic shots, but overdoing it is a bit irksome. Has the production team shut their eyes?

Anuj, the heartthrob of housewives!

Anuj Saxena, the protagonist of Sony's, Rishtoh Ki Dorr, is hardly visible in the plot these days. The show was earlier announced as the story of the only brother (Anuj) and his three sisters. On a hot afternoon, housewives, who are the target audience of the show, tune in to catch the cool Anuj Saxena. But with his melting appearance, ladies seem to be let down. On top of it, increased focus on Gaurav Chanana and Sampada Vaze, who have yet to connect with the audience, seems to be affecting the TRPs of Rishtoh Ki Dorr.

Mamma Mona gets back to work!

Mona Ambegaonkar, last seen as forensic scientist Dr Anjalika in Sony's CID, seems to have made a comeback of sorts after giving birth to a baby girl a few months ago! Motherhood seems to have worked wonders with the pretty actor, who's looking rather lovely in the Dettol ad where she features as the mother of a teen. When we called to ask her about the secret of her glowing skin, the lady just laughed it off and thanked us profusely for complimenting her! Busy with her newborn, the actor hasn't taken on more work! But we are hoping to see much more of her on the small screen!

"I knew it all along!"

Kavita Kaushik's one cool gal. All along, while her friends were planning a surprise bash on her birthday last week, the leggy lass, seen most often on Sony's CID, was wise to their tricks. "I knew it when they said let's go for a drive, that they would drive down to a nice nature spot near Pune, 'cos I love nature! We had a huge party there, came back to Mumbai, and then when some of them took me out shopping again, I knew they wanted to do up my house for the party!" laughs Kavita.

Death knell for Jassi...?

Okay, so Jassi and Armaan have finally tied the knot in far away Malaysia. That puts the other suitors safely out of the frame, and hopefully resolves the myriad issues that plagued India's first television plain Jane. Now we hear that Sony has decided that enough is enough, and that Jassi...will wind up. On 16 February, to be precise. Sony is loath to confirm the channel driver's demise just yet, but we have it on authority that another show, perhaps a reality show like Paisa Bhari Ho Gaya, will take its place. Is that Mona Singh heaving a sigh of relief? Or is that the audience?
