Pushpa 2: The Rule' continues the story of its sequel, starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna and making Fahadh Faasil the antagonist. The movie is directed by Sukumar.

Two big stories surrounding the film are presently filming in the UK, were the denial of Sanjay Dutt's visa and the removal of Vijay Raaz from the cast over allegations of misconduct. The news that Sanjay Dutt had lost his visa to enter the UK dealt the first serious setback to Son of Sardaar 2, and he was a key part of the original film.

The decision is said to be the result of disturbing rumors about his spot boy and allegations of unprofessional behavior on the set. The ensemble cast of the film is presently being filmed in London, including Mrunal Thakur, Deepak Dobriyal, Chunky Panday, and Ajay Devgn.
