Rehana Sultan, the trailblazer who ushered in a sexual revolution with her boldly-defined portrayal of the assertive woman in many films directed by her late husband B R Ishaara, is back in the limelight. She plays Chitrangda Singh’s feisty mother in Sudhir Mishra’s <em>Inkaar</em>. So impressed is the director by the actress’ command of the medium after so many years that that he has decided to cast her in a much meatier role in his next.

Sudhir Mishra to make sequel of Iss Raat Ki Subah Nahin

Filmmaker Sudhir Mishra will soon start making a sequel of his earlier 1996-made film Iss Raat Ki Subah Nahin. Confirming the same, Mishra quipped, “We are making a sequel and are re-looking at the story. With the film, I want to get back to the space of thriller.” Reportedly, the sequel will have Chitrangda Singh, Irrfan Khan and Arunoday Singh.

Sudhir Mishra who starts shooting for his ambitious period epic Mehrunissa by year end in Lucknow, has found the perfect solution to the problem of getting the old and the young avatars of the Bachchan and Kapoor characters to seem flawlessly synchronized on screen. The two theatre actors who will be playing the younger avatars of the Big B and Rishi Kapoor would now spend the entire 40 days of the long Lucknow shooting observing the Big B and Rishi Kapoor shooting.

Sudhir Mishra awaiting Amitabh Bachchan's nod for Mehrunisa

Veteran filmmaker Sudhir Mishra is awaiting the nod of Amitabh Bachchan for his ambitious project <em>Mehrunisa</em>. “I have sent the script to him and am waiting for his reply,” said Mishra. Talking about the project Mishra averred, “<em>Mehrunisa</em> is about two friends who haven’t spoken to each other for forty years. The reason is a woman who causes the rift among the sworn friends.”
