Though the IPL is still the talk of the town, TAM ratings for GECs are slowly but steadily getting better by the day. Looking at the channels, Star Plus is still the number one on the graph with 215 GRPs followed closely by Zee TV, Colors and Sony that stand in the second, third and fourth position respectively with 191,164 and 150 GRPs respectively. SAB TV and Life OK, as usual, maintain their fifth and sixth position with 125 and 101 GRPs. Looks like the Indian television audiences are enjoying watching IPL this season as the TRPs of GECs continue to dip. However, there are a few channels that have managed to climb up in spite of the tough competition from IPL. Here are the numbers…

IPL seemed to have taken a toll again when it comes to the ratings of GECs. But, as far as the rating table is concerned, there has not been much of a change in terms of positioning. Star Plus remains the numero uno channel with 253 GRPs. Zee TV, Sony TV and Colors maintain their second, third and fourth positions with 163,160 and 156 GRPs, respectively. SAB TV and Life OK are perched at position fifth (137 GRPs) and sixth (110 GRPs). This week it’s pretty clear that the IPL has started affecting the General Entertainment Channels (GECs) as their ratings have taken a plunge. However interestingly, Sony Entertainment Television has managed to get better numbers than Colors.
