Tellychakkar.com has been constantly writing about the observations of people from Bollywood on the demise of veteran theatre and film artiste A K Hangal who died when he was 98. When TV stars become Prime Minister of India for a day

India at 65 is going through a pessimistic phase; we have lost trust and respect in most of our law makers and state institutions. There is an urgent war cry for someone from the masses to rise up and take power and dispense summary justice. Something similar as Anil Kapoor did in the 2001 film <em>Nayak</em>. Whenever we talk about Manipur we only refer to the violence between various tribes there, but for once this state on the North Eastern Frontier of India is in the news for all the right reasons. Yes, we are talking about vibrant Mary Kom and are achievements. This five times World Boxing Champion (48 kilo category) has bagged a bronze medal at the ongoing London Olympics. TV stars pay tribute to gurudev Rabindranath Tagore

Rabindranath Tagore was born on 7 May 1861. He was a Bengali who went on to become a legend by the beauty of what he inked and his contribution to the freedom struggle of India against the British. Rabindranath was a rare man of different merits. He was a novelist, dramatist, artiste, essayist, music composer, philosopher, academic, linguist and social reformer. The versatile personality throughout his life enriched Bangla literature through his writings. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913 for his English version of Gitanjali.

On Hiroshima-Nagasaki anniversary, TV stars pledge to spread love and say "no" to war

Today, on the 67th anniversary of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, we need to call an end to the nuclear experiment. At 8:15 a.m. on Aug. 6, 1945, the United States dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima, killing around 140,000 people. The death toll included men, women and children who died instantaneously, and thousands who died within months from the lingering radiation sickness. The U.S. attack on Nagasaki three days later took the lives of 75,000 more.
