Rajan Shahi's Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has been doing well on the channel and so naturally it has benefitted not only the show’s lead pair but also its character artistes. Whether it is Sandip Mehta, Sanjeev Seth, Ather Habib, Pooja Joshi or the veteran Vinita Malik, all of them seem to be tailor made for the roles they are playing. However, the character of Mahendra Pratap Singhania stands out. Played by Sanjay Gandhi, the character fondly called <em>Daddajee</em>, has become quite popular for his mannerisms and acting. A fashion designer by profession Karan has styled superstar Amitabh Bachchan. Despite his good looks chocolate face Karan kept himself away from the arc lights for long until Yeh Rishta… happened to him. His entry in the show has pushed the show to a new high.
