YRF’s Gunday, Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and Produced by Aditya Chopra, is slated to release on 14 February 2014. The film stars Ranveer Singh & Arjun Kapoor, as Bikram and Bala, along with Priyanka Chopra and Irrfan Khan, in lead roles. Based in Calcutta during its most unsettled times in the ‘70’s, the film deals with the inseparable life of Bikram and Bala, who grew from being small time, inconsequential coal thieves, to becoming the most powerful black marketing mafia-men. A story of two happy-go-lucky renegades who came to be known as – <em>Gunday</em>.

In his want to revive the sagging fortunes of Govinda, Aditya Chopra has signed him for YRF’s next <em>Kill Dil</em>. But the actor will play a negative character in the film. Though the actor has played a grey role earlier in <em>Shikari, Kill Dil</em>, to be helmed by Shaad Ali, will be his first out and out negative role. When we pressed the actor to tell something about the character, he said that unlike a totally negative character, the role will be more of a realistic one.

After directing Laaga Chunari Mein Daag for Yash Raj Films in 2007 and Lafanggey Parindey in 2010, Pradeep Sarkar is back working with the production house being assigned to helm <em>Mardaani</em>. Starring Rani Mukerji in the lead, playing the role of a cop for the first time, the raw and gritty film will be YRF’s boldest subject ever to be made and a distinct departure from the style of filmmaking of the <em>Parineeta</em> director. Produced by <em>Aditya Chopra</em>, the film will go on floor by the last quarter of the year and is slated for a 2014 release worldwide.

Folks, the eagerly awaited theatrical trailer of Aurangzeb is out. YRF’s next offering at the box office, Aurangzeb, releases in theatres worldwide on 17 May 2013. Directed by Atul Sabharwal and produced by Aditya Chopra, the movie stars Arjun Kapoor, in a double role, along with Prithviraj, in lead roles in this intriguing and gripping drama. The film boasts of an enviable and dynamic ensemble star cast of Rishi Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Sikandar Kher, Amrita Singh, Deepti Naval, Tanvi Azmi, Swara Bhaskar and also launches Sasheh Aagha.

Seeing YRF successfully releasing its Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif-starrer <em>Ek Tha Tiger</em> in Japan on 8 March with much fanfare, Eros International Media Ltd. (Eros International) is making necessary arrangements to release its 2007 blockbuster <em>Om Shanti Om</em> in Japan on 16 March. The release of the Farah Khan-directed Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone-starrer has been planned across an unprecedented 15 screens, one of the biggest ever for an Indian film in Japan.

Yash Raj Films’ Gunday has started its next schedule in Kolkata. YRF’s <em>Gunday</em> team recreated a ‘80s Calcutta’ and shot a dramatic Durga Puja sequence under the Howrah Bridge bringing Kolkata to a standstill. A crowd of over 1000 ecstatic and overjoyed people could be heard chanting “Joy Bikram! Joy Bala!” As a matter of fact, the city of Joy is revelling in friendship between Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor, both on screen and off screen.
