Zee's Cinestar finalist bags new Sony show

Sony Entertainment Television, which is in the process of a major revamp in its programming lineup, will soon be launching its long talked about show, <em>Kabhi Toh Nazar Milao</em>, a show to be produced by UTV. The show will come close on the heels of a new array of shows like <em>Thode Khushi Thodi Gham</em> and <em>Aisa Des Hain Mera</em>. The serial which was about to go on air in January, is now scheduled for May and will in all likelihood, fit the afternoon slot.

Vishwanath and Rakhtima voted out of Ek Main…

Vishwanath and Raktima have been voted out by viewers from all over India in tonight’s episode of Zee’s latest talent hunt, <em>Ek Main Aur Ek Tu</em>. Getting the least amount of votes from among the eight jodis, Vishwanath paid the price for his sad attempt at poetry in last week’s episode. Vishwanath hails from Ahmedabad and surprisingly, it was Gujarat that voted the least for the pair.

Sa Re Ga Ma.. winner yet to move into prize house

Debojit, the singing sensation from Assam has been enjoying the adulation coming his way since he has won the <em>Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge</em> crown on 24 February 2006. But the house in Mumbai that was promised to the winner from the stage during the finale hasn't yet materialised. The singer who has been a struggler in the metropolis, with his devoted wife also moving base with him for four years, is still waiting patiently to move into the new house.

Cinestar Ki Khoj finalist bags lead in Sixer

Amruta Khanvilkar has bagged the lead role in Manish Goswami's much delayed project <em>Sixer</em> based on the theme of cricket on Star One. Zee's <em>Cinestar Ki Khoj</em> finalist, Pune's Amruta Khanvilkar debuted on television with <em>Ada</em> on Sahara One.

Sarrkkar to go off air in April

Another Zee show has ended it's run! After <em>Rabba</em>..., now, it's the turn of the political drama, <em>Sarrkkar</em>, to go off air. With the way things are going, it seems that the channel has decided to pull the plug off their present shows to perhaps accomodate shows that are waiting in the pipeline. "We had a contract of 52 episodes, which expires in April and the channel's taken a call not to extend it," says producer, Manish Goswami.

Rabba Ishq...to pack up on 18 April

It's official. Aroona Irani's Zee show, <em>Rabba Ishq Na Hove</em> is wrapping up. The show has had a successful 52 episode run and will come to an end on 18 April, sources tell us. The show, that launched on the ill fated Black Tuesday, 26 July 2005 (the first episode was re-telecast on 2 August) started as an one hour 10 pm weekly, but was rescheduled to air Mondays and Tuesdays at 8:30 pm.

Loveleen to add devious charm to Mamta

You've seen her in <em>Astitva</em>, and you have noticed her in Rabba.... Now watch Cinestars find Loveleen get into a full fledged role in Zee's afternoon soap Mamta. She plays Devika who is engaged to Sameer. "It is a very different character. I play Sameer's fiancé, who was Tanisha's ex. Tanisha's now tied the knot with another guy as Sameer was not well to do. Sameer plans to exact revenge and I will be helping him in this, "says Loveleen. She adds, "It has been a week that I am shooting for this series, and it's good fun."

Piya Ka Ghar to bid adieu

Lovers of Zee's afternoon band will have to get accustomed to a new line up of shows. Reth and <em>Piya Ka Ghar</em>, two of the channel's steady and stable shows, will be bowed out by mid February. On the cards is a reshuffle of its existing shows like Paalkhi, and the recent entry of new properties like <em>Kasamh Se</em> and <em>Mamta</em>. Sources say the channel plans a complete revamp of the noon band shortly.
