Buniyaad's back!

Today's generation of TV viewers are in for a treat. From 26 January onwards, when they switch on SaharaOne at 8 pm Monday through Saturday they will have an opportunity to enjoy what the previous generation did in the form of the ever fresh television classic <em>Buniyaad</em>. The network is all set to re create the magic of a young couple growing up in an India bedevilled by religious strife and the travails of their family after that.

Moolah time for the couch potato!

Everybody knows about the man who created history on Indian television by winning Rs 1,56,80,000 on Zee's game show, <em>Kam Ya Zyada<em> on 9 January, but little is known about the 10 guys who won Rs 7, 80,000 sitting at home during the same episode, even as Ravindra Vats sweated it out on the hot seat! And two of them were sitting in the Middle East!

Mamta ready to air on Zee

Come 9 January and Zee TV will start its new show <em>Mamta</em>. The show, produced by Shobhana Desai, highlights the turmoils of surrogate motherhood. Neha Mehta as Mamta The story of <em>Mamta</em> takes off when a young surrogate mother is told that her child is still born and she later comes to know that her baby is actually alive and is at the mercy of scrupulous intentions.

It's a Man's World on AXN

AXN is all set to dole out a new show in January titled <em>It's a Man's World</em> which will be hosted by ace comedian Vrajesh Hijree and stand-up comedian Ash Chandler. This is perhaps AXN's only show till date coming from an Indian stable. This trend of including Indian productions in what might be called foreign content channels seemed to have caught on. <em>Bombay Talking</em>, produced by UTV currently on air on Zee Cafe is one of them. Rendezvous with Simi Garewal, produced by Siga productions will air its second season soon on Star World.

Sushmita Mukherji to play Urmila in Piya Ka Ghar

Sushmita Mukherji will now be seen in Zee's <em>Piya Ka Ghar</em> as Urmila. She makes an entrance in the soap opera on 15 December. Sushmita's character has a comic touch and plays innocent but will not take rubbish from anyone. She wants to live a happy life and a luxurious one is what she dreams of.

Nigaar's double whammy!

She had surprised everybody with her powerhouse performance as the diabolic Sheetal Singhania in Zee TV's <em>Lipstick</em>, now she is all ready with two new shows that are going to be aired at the same time on the same days! What more could an actor want. Nigaar Z Khan has Star One's <em>India Calling</em> and Sony's <em>Ek Ladki Anjani Si</em> lined up at 9:30 pm, Monday to Wednesday starting 21 November. In both the shows she plays the negative lead!

Balaji sets ablaze!

This is the second time this year that Balaji Telefilms' has suffered major setbacks!A fire destroyed two sets belonging to Balaji Telefilms. The sets were located at Chitrarth, Powai. There were no casualties. First, Sankraman studios suffered major losses during the 26 July floods and now a raging fire has engulfed the Balaji sets in Powai, last night. Zee's <em>Kasamh Se</em> and <em>Hum Paanch</em> are being shot in the sets there.

Zee shows-off singing sensations in style

It was an interesting coincidence that Zee decided to unveil its final ten contestants of <em>Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge</em>, the day the <em>Fame Jodi</em> was to be announced by Sony! But taking no points away from the awesome ten, this was an evening that will be remembered by the media (at the press conference held at Hilton Hotel in suburban Mumbai) for a long time to come.

Akashdeep hurt on Time Bomb sets

Reel action turned real on Zee's <em>Time Bomb</em> sets on Monday. Baddie Akashdeep Saigal, who plays the terrorist Usman in the weekly serial, crashed through a french window and suffered deep cuts on his head and hands, and had to be rushed to hospital.
