MUMBAI: The collaboration of David Warner and SS Rajamouli on their latest advertisement campaign became the talk of the town and grabbed everyone’s attention. The video of the advertisement has gone viral. It is about the director who asks for discounts on tickets to David’s match and funniness.

SS Rajamouli asks, “David Garu, can I get a discount on your match tickets?” David Warner replies, “Raja sir, if you have CRED UPI you get cashback.” The director asks, “And if I have normal UPI?” David replies, “You’ll have to do me a favor for a discount.”

The video then transforms to David Warner shooting for a conventional SS Rajamouli period drama as a lead hero. One scene featured him dancing with an actress. In another shot, he was gearing up to face the enemy. David states, “See you at the Oscars?”

Whereas Rajamouli seems to regret his decision. David then asks, “Hey Raja, is it RRR or Rrr?” Turns out then that it was Rajamouli’s dream sequence and he just went the CRED route. The ad had everyone in splits.

Earlier this year, director SS Rajamouli’s RRR scripted history after its ‘Naatu Naatu’ song won in the Best Original Song category at the 80th Golden Globe Awards. The win has whipped up a storm on social media. Congratulatory wishes poured in for the RRR team from fans and celebrities alike. Joining the bandwagon, Australia’s opening batter David Warner also dropped his message for RRR.

Henceforth, Warner and Rajamouli’s collaboration had win hearts and caught everyone’s attention. Candice Warner wrote, “What a winning combination, I can’t wait to see more of this!! .” Tamannaah Bhatia also took her social media handle to react on the same by dropping laughing emojis and heart emoticons in the comment section. The cricketer’s daughters wrote, “This is so cool Dad. When we can do something like this with you?”

Before Devara Part 1 releases in theatres, Janhvi Kapoor's next biggie from the South has been announced. She is the leading lady in Ram Charan's next film. It is still untitled so is known as RC16. In March, to mark Ram Charan's birthday, the announcement of Ram Charan's 16th film took place and Janhvi Kapoor joined the team in Hyderabad. It is the young diva's second Telugu film. Well, this movie is pretty special as it has Sridevi connection.

RC16 holds a special significance for both Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor. They are sort of carrying forward the legacy set by their parents. Long ago, Ram Charan's father Chiranjeevi and Janhvi Kapoor's late mother Sridevi shared the screen space in Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari. They made for a hit on-screen pair and were loved by the masses. Ram and Janhvi are now the torchbearers of this lineage and are up to embark on a journey to nail it on screen with their chemistry. Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor's fresh pairing has already left fans excited for RC16 which is now in production stage. RC16 is helmed by Buchi Babu Sana. The movie is directed by Mythri Film Makers.

Earlier, it was Boney Kapoor who had confirmed the news of Janhvi Kapoor teaming up with Ram Charan. In an interview with iDream Media, he said that Janhvi is loving the work she is doing in Telugu cinema and enjoying on the sets. She has also been watching a lot of Telugu films. He added that Sridevi did many films in many languages and hopes that his daughter will do it too. He has his fingers crossed that Janhvi Kapoor's films with Jr NTR and Ram Charan will work at the box office.

MUMBAI: Videos of actor Ajith shooting for Vidaa Muyarchi without a stunt double where his car toppled over, caught the attention of many fans on social media. After the videos sparked concern regarding the actor's health, his publicist Suresh Chandra has told Times of India that the actor is unhurt and resumed shooting shortly after.

In one of the videos, Ajith drives a car with Arav strapped in the passenger seat. After a few moments, the car topples over and the crew is seen rushing towards them. Clearing the air about this incident, Ajith's publicist said: “The team was shooting an action sequence on a highway in Azerbaijan. The speculation is that one of the tyres of the vehicle that Ajith sir was driving might have gotten deflated, leading to this accident."

He continued, “Arav and Ajith sir went for a check-up and resumed shoot within three hours. Neither of the two actors suffered any injury.” The video was taken in November last year.

Lyca Productions had shared the videos on their X account and wrote, “Bravery knows no bounds! (Flexed biceps emoji) Witness Ajith Kumar's fearless dedication as he takes on a daring stunt sequence in #VidaaMuyarchi without any stunt double (saluting face and fire emojis).” Suresh Chandra, posted the clips and wrote, "Vidaamuyarchi filming. November 2023.

Vidaamuyarchi is helmed by Magizh Thirumeni and also stars Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Das and Regina Cassandra in the lead roles. The music of the film will be composed by Anirudh Ravichandran. The film's release date is yet to be revealed. The film's post-theatrical digital rights has been acquired by Netflix.

MUMBAI: Thalapathy Vijay is all set to do a couple of films more before he embarks on a journey in politics. It is a known fact that he is one of the highest paid stars in India. His last movie, Leo was a huge hit at the box office.

Thalapathy Vijay charged Rs 120 crores for the movie. Now, he will be seen in The Greatest Of All Time with actress Meenakshi Chaudhary. That movie is being made by Venkat Prabhu. He has hiked his fee for the film. As per rumours, he is charging Rs 200 crores for the film, which sees him as a soldier.

It seems Thalapathy Vijay has okayed a script with H Vinoth. The movie is supposed to be a political satire. In the past, H Vinoth has made films like Nerkonda Parvaai and Valimai with Thala Ajith. As per a report in Track Tollywood, Thalapathy Vijay is charging Rs 250 crores for the movie. In every Vijay film, his fee makes up 75 per cent of the production cost, and this is no different. He is the second most highest-paid actor in Tamil cinema after Rajinikanth.

It seems the film with H Vinoth will be his last. As of now, his net worth is at Rs 500 crores. Even Rajinikanth is supposed to be charging the same amount (Rs 250 crores) for his film with Lokesh Kanagaraj titled Thalaivar 171. He delivered a Rs 600 crore film in 2023 with Jailer.

As per Bollywood journalist Himesh Mankad's official social media handle, Samantha Ruth Prabhu is in advanced talks with Jawan director Atlee. Yes, you heard it right. Atlee is planning a film. While Allu Arjun has already been signed, Samantha is in talks, and very soon things may become official. The makers are planning to start filming by October 2024. The film is touted to be the biggest action entertainer of Indian cinema. The same report suggests that the makers will soon make an official announcement about the film.

After wrapping up Pushpa 2, Allu Arjun will start working on Atlee's next film, which is yet to be titled. Certainly, the possibility of Samantha and Allu's collaboration for a movie is generating buzz in the film industry. This news has intrigued fans. As excitement mounts, enthusiasts eagerly await official confirmation and further details about this intriguing project.

MUMBAI: Director SS Rajamouli has introduced actor Mahesh Babu to his fans in Japan and also spoken about his next project, SSMB 29. In a video shared by Gulte.com, Rajamouli said that the film is in "the pre-production process". The director also promised that during the release of the film, he would bring Mahesh Babu to Japan and introduce him to fans there in person. Rajamouli recently attended a special screening of his blockbuster film RRR in Japan.

Rajamouli said, "We started my next film. We completed the writing, we are in the pre-production process...But we haven't finished the casting yet. Only the main hero is locked, the protagonist of the film is locked. His name is Mahesh Babu, he is a Telugu actor (people hoot). Looks like many of you already know him. He is very handsome. Hopefully, we finish the film a little bit fast and during the release, I will bring him here, and I'll introduce him to you. I'm sure you will love him as well."

In January, writer Vijayendra Prasad confirmed that the script for SSMB 29, rumoured to have a budget of around ₹1000 crore, is already completed. Additionally, it's been reported that Mahesh Babu travelled to Germany for this project. Rumours also suggested that the film will be similar to the popular Hollywood adventure series Indiana Jones and will feature a story related to the character Hanuman.

Though Mahesh Babu usually charges between ₹60 to ₹80 crore per film, for Rajamouli's project, analysts expected him to receive an even higher fee. However, there were reports that Mahesh Babu didn't take any remuneration for this movie. Instead, both he and Rajamouli might share in the film's profits. The movie team has yet to confirm these reports.

MM Keervani is working as the music composer. KL Narayana is bankrolling the project under the Durga Arts banner. An official announcement regarding the rest of the cast of the film and other details are awaited.

Rajamouli, after attending the screening, shared a series of photos with an elderly Japanese woman who gifted him 1,000 origami cranes. "In Japan, they make origami cranes & gift them to their loved ones for good luck & health. This 83-year-old woman made 1000 of them to bless us because RRR made her happy. She just sent the gift and was waiting outside in the cold. Some gestures can never be repaid. Just grateful," the filmmaker captioned his post on X.

MUMBAI: Surya and Jyotika, the popular duo in Tamil cinema, debuted together in the 1999 film Poovellam Kettupar. The couple developed a strong friendship over time and eventually fell in love. They got married in 2006 and became parents to Diya in 2007 and Dev in 2010.

When a female fan asked Jyotika if she could spend a day with Suriya, her favourite actor, Jyotika quickly replied, saying, Oops, not allowed. This response showed Jyotika’s immense love for her husband.

Jyotika and Suriya, who starred in multiple films together, fell in love on-screen and later got married in 2006. A year ago, they moved to Mumbai for their children’s education.

The film set a new benchmark for Hindi cinema in supernatural thrillers. Now, she has films including The Animators and Sri in the pipeline.

MUMBAI: Recently, there were reports that actor Arundhathi Nair met with a bike accident. There were numerous reports that the actor met with an accident on March 14, with her sister Arathy now putting out a statement on Instagram on Monday.

Arathy tagged Arundhathi and wrote on Instagram that her sister did meet with an accident three days ago and that her health is critical. She wrote, “We felt the need to clarify the news reported in Tamil Nadu's newspapers and television channels. It is true that my sister Arundhathi Nair had an accident three days ago, (sic)” adding, “She is critically injured and fighting for her life while being kept on a ventilator at the Ananthapuri Hospital in Trivandrum. (sic)” She wrote in the caption while sharing the statement, “We Need your prayers and Support for her speery recovery.”

India Today reports that the accident took place at the Kovalam bypass with Arundhathi sustaining injuries to her head. She was travelling with her brother when the accident took place. They were returning home after giving an interview to a YouTube channel.

Wishes for recovery have been pouring in for the actor under the post. “Hope she gets well soon. Our thoughts and prayers with you,” wrote a fan, while another wrote, “Ayyo really sad to see this. May god give her the strength to recover soon.” Numerous fans asked her to ‘get well soon’ with some asking others to ‘pray for her recovery’ at places of worship.

Arundhathi debuted in 2014 with the Tamil film Pongi Ezhu Manohara. She went on to act in films like Saithan and Pistha. She debuted in Malayalam in 2018 with the film Ottakoru Kaamukan in which she was paired with Shine Tom Chacko and was last seen in the 2023 film Aayiram Porkaasukal. She also acted in the Malayalam TV show Kerala Samajam from 2019-20. In 2021 she starred in the Malayalam web-series Padmini and the Tamil show Don’t Think.

MUMBAI: Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu has opened up about her autoimmune condition, myositis, and revealed that she was ‘forced to go public’ about her disorder. Samantha revealed she has myositis ahead of Yashoda's release in 2022. Speaking with India Today, Samantha said that in 14 years of her career, some of them were "unhappy years".

Samantha said, "I was forced to go public about my disorder. At that time, I had my female-centric film due for release. I was very sick back then. It was hard and I wasn't ready. There were all sorts of speculation going around and misinformation being spread. The producers needed me to promote it, otherwise, it (the film) would just die. So, I agreed to do one interview. Obviously, I didn't look the same. I had high doses of medication to keep me stable. I was forced to. Given a choice, I wouldn't have come out and announced it."

"I was called sympathy queen by the public. My journey as an actor, as a human being, I have evolved so much. Early on in my career, I was anxious and go up (online) looking for nasty articles and what was being written about me. The more people accused me of things, I started to almost question every question every thought of mine. They have forced me to become the person that I can be proud of. When people are going through a lot of pain, they need a portal to project it. And social media is that portal I guess. I do really think that," she added.

Samantha also added that she was "suffering from impostor syndrome" and got scared that "one day when I wake up, it would go away". She also said that during the biggest highs of her career, she couldn't enjoy them because of her syndrome. The actor shared that she never attributed the successes to herself, and always attributed it to someone else.

Samantha was last seen in Kushi with Vijay Deverakonda. Samantha will be seen in the Indian adaptation of the action series Citadel opposite Varun Dhawan. It is created by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK.

MUMBAI: Prasanth Varma’s HanuMan starring Teja Sajja, Amritha Aiyer, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Vinay Rai was released in theatres in January and received a great response. However, fans have been left confused by the delays in the film's digital release. The director took to X to clarify and give fans an update.

HanuMan was expected to stream on Maha Shivaratri (March 8) but fans were disappointed when there was a delay in the OTT release. Now, it has been announced that the Hindi version of the film will stream on JioCinema from March 16, but there hasn’t been any clarity on when the Telugu version of the film will be released on Zee5. Many had expected HanuMan to stream this weekend, but that has also been delayed.

Prasanth clarified that the delayed release isn’t intentional, writing on X, “HanuMan OTT streaming delay was not intentional! We have been working tirelessly round the clock to sort things and bring the film to you asap! Our intention is always to give you nothing but the best! Please try to understand and continue supporting us! Thank you!” The official X handle of Zee5 also tweeted, “The long wait comes to an end! HanuMan coming soon on ZEE5 in Telugu with english subtitles! Stay tuned for further updates.”

Union home minister Amit Shah recently met team HanuMan and praised them on X. He shared pictures from the meeting and his views on the superhero film, which is the first in Prasanth Varma’s cinematic universe. He wrote, “The team has done a commendable job of showcasing Bharat's spiritual traditions and the superheroes that have emerged from them. Best wishes to the team for their future projects.”

HanuMan was released in theatres in January, clashing with Guntur Kaaram, Saindhav and Naa Saami Ranga, yet holding its own. The film tells the story of a young man called Hanumanthu (Teja) who gains superpowers after coming across a totem in his village. How he stands up for his people against a capitalistic villain (Vina) with the help of his sister (Varalaxmi) and lover (Amritha) forms the tale.
