Samir Dharmadhikari is a relaxed man these days. And he is not complaining. After completing 240 episodes in a year and a half, his show Main Teri Parchhaiyan Hoon has gone off-air last week. He is enjoying every moment of this long deserved break. "Working in a daily soap does change you. Besides making one undergo the grilling of unbelievably hard work, I think it also makes you a much more mature actor. Before this show, I have worked on a number of small roles, but the exposure and learning this show gave me is unprecedented. I am very happy that I could be part of this show," says Samir who feels that Main Teri …got over at the right time. "There are many shows which will unnecessarily drag on and create a bad name for them. Thankfully it was not the case here," says the actor. "I am grateful to Kavita Barjatya for offering me this role and the opportunity. Working with the Barjatyas is an experience I itself and I feel all actors should experience it," says Samir. What are his future plans, now that he has the daily pressure off his shoulders? "It is after a year and a half that I am getting some time to spend with my family. I have a small daughter and she had been longing to spend quality time with me. I am happy that now I am being able to do that. I just want to be with my family and enjoy this break," says the doting father. His foray into films has also kept Samir busy. He has recently finished shooting for Ketan Mehta's Rang Rasiya with Randeep Hooda. "It is a lovely film and I am playing a small character role there," confesses Samir. "I am also working with Amol Palekar on a Marathi film Samantar. Sharmila Tagore is playing my mother in the film and we are in the last leg of shooting," informs the actor who is trying his best to balance his commitments between films and television. Till now he has done that pretty well.
