On my way to the studio, was listening to the radio and of course enjoying the ads when a RJ put a question, ‘If there was no internet?’ Listeners started pouring in their answers. Some said they would have been deprived of the vast knowledge that has been possible because of the net. Some said they love the connectivity; today everything is just a click away from movie tickets to books to clothes, etc. Some loved the way the net helped in getting in touch with old friends, yeah, flames too; thanks to the many social networking sites available today. But one actually said that the Net is a curse because his daughter was always on the computer. She claims to be doing her homework but is actually chatting with a friend. Some were so addicted to it for sure.
Then there were some who found a match on matrimony sites, others could complete a course through correspondence while some others stumbled upon secrets of lovers and got warned in time!
Yes, like most things, the Net too is a boon and a bane. It has its ups and downs. But it all depends on how you use it, how you use technology. Do you use it to help you with something or to make you a better person or do you look at it as a means to destroy, disturb someone?
Nothing is bad. The world has come closer because of the net. yes, you can access your savings account from your office or home but at the same time if someone hacks it, you are done for life. And that’s the biggest disadvantage.
Can’t imagine our lives without the net today! For me, it’s a boon because I can connect with my loved ones within seconds. Come to think of it, you and I connect through the net, don’t We?
