The name Ruslaan Mumtaz needs no introduction. With a charming smile and super cute looks, the man has ruled many young hearts.
After quite a few roles in Bollywood, Ruslaan stepped into the telly world to spread his magic. Last seen in Balika Vadhu his latest outing in the world of soap opera was rather short-lived with the show coming to an abrupt end.
After the daily shut its shop, we chatted with Ruslaan for a quick conversation, who in fact sounded a bit disappointed with his show’s fate. When quizzed about his experience, Ruslaan with a heavy heart replied, “To be honest it was rather a small stint. By the time I could settle in, the show came to an end. Naturally, I am a bit disappointed about the same, as I expected it to run for another year or two. My thoughts are going in vein now, but the best part that happened to me during this period is that I made few goods friends like Mahhi Vij and Avinash Sachdev.”
Ruslaan, why do you think the show didn’t work out post the leap? Ruslaan began, “See, there are many reasons behind the failure of the second season of Balika Vadhu. First of all, post leap, the series shifted its focus from the issue of the evil social custom, child marriage. Naturally, the audience didn’t connect with the new theme of the show, which was more like a love story. Moreover, none of the actors from season one was there in our show, automatically for our viewers it became an entirely new show.”
Balika Vadhu 2 had two male protagonists. When asked to the young man whether he was insecure or not, Ruslaan said, “On the contrary, I was very happy as I thought that the work load would be a little less but his track also changed. I only wish it would have worked out well.”
Before signing off Ruslaan mentioned that he will be back soon on screen. “Earlier I used to be really choosy and wait for better projects to come to my way. Now, I am not going to do that. I will take up any venture that comes my way.”
We wish you all the success Ruslaan.
