MUMBAI :Indian television shows have been a part of the audience's daily lives for a long time now. Over time, the type and platform of content changed a lot but people still wish to go back to television dramas and call it their comfort zone.

Times have changed but some things never change. We have seen that in almost all the Indian television shows, there is a romantic track of a couple. There is a journey that is shown for the two. But what remains the same are their romantic and intimate moments.  

The way Indian shows show romantic scenes, are so unrealistic and lame. The two people keep staring at each other for so long, the girl falls and the guy catches her after which the two keep looking at each other till someone interrupts, the way it all happens is too unrealistic to bear.

This is not how it happens in real life and even though the show is fictional, there needs to some sort of connection and reliability that the audience is able to feel. Sometimes, it feels good to watch such dramatic scenes but such ideas are not the definition of romance. Even when two people spend quality time together and have a matured conversation, trying to know and understand each other is romantic.

The netizens have expressed disappointment regarding the same calling the romances of Indian television shows unrealistic.

Parineeti Sahay: I feel the shows try to overdo with romantic scenes. They think this old school idea of girl falling and the guy catching is the ultimate romantic moment. This is not the case. In this day and age, the writers need to come up with better scenes to create romance.

Vaishali Mishra: There has always been one defined rule or method to portray romance in Indian shows. But the makers need to upgrade a little. They need to show better ways to portray romance because their ways are falling short and definitely not doing the trick.

Sonal Lalwani: Spending time together, helping each other, taking a stand for each other, knowing and understanding each other, all this is romantic in its own way. There need not be just a few set ways to show romance on screen.

Palak Rajpal: The Indian shows are so set in their ways and scared to experiment. They fail to understand that with time, they need to move ahead too. The idea of romance is not what they portray anymore. Their notions are so limited and they refuse to look beyond that.
