MUMBAI: Gaurav Khanna became the coveted winner of Bigg Boss 19 and took home the prestigious trophy along with a cash prize of 50 lakh rupees. While Gaurav was quite dignified during his stay on the show, a few people have been calling him ‘undeserving’ for his lack of involvement during the initial phase.
In a chat with the media, Gaurav Khanna's mother, Shashi Khanna, spoke about Gaurav's conduct on the show and her initial inhibitions about his participation in Bigg Boss 19.

In an interview with IANS, Mrs Khanna said, "Bahot badiya hai! But starting mey mai mana kar rahi thi ke Gaurav mat jao, woh tumare layak nahi hai. Gaurav ko yeh gaali galoch , yeh sab nahi karna aata, woh hamesha kaide se raha hai or ladayi jhagde bhi nahi karta. Waha toh suna tha ke sab ladte-jhagte rehte hai but usne jaakar waaha bhi theek se raha. Gaurav ne waha koi aisi, kisi ko bhi galat baat nahi boli, kisi ki chugli nai ki, jaisa ghar mey hai, waisa hi raha."
(It’s very good! But in the beginning, I kept telling Gaurav not to go, that the show wasn’t right for him. Gaurav doesn’t know how to do all that abusing and yelling — he has always lived with discipline and doesn’t get into fights. We had heard that everyone keeps fighting in there, but even after going inside, he behaved properly. Gaurav didn’t say anything wrong to anyone, didn’t gossip about anyone — he stayed exactly the way he is at home.)
While Gaurav won the show, Farrhana Bhatt secured the first runner-up spot followed by Pranit More finishing his journey as the second runner-up of Bigg Boss 19.
