A Creative’s job is a THANKLESS job: Guddan Tumse Na Ho Payega Creative Head Krishna Ponia

MUMBAI: There are a lot of people who come to the city of dreams travelling from different states to make it big in the entertainment industry and one of them is Krishna Ponia. A Creative Head of Zee TV’s most loved show, Guddan Tumse Na Ho Payega, Krishna has come a long way in his career.

In conversation with Tellychakkar.com, Krishna spoke to us about his career graph.

He said, “Since childhood, I am more into creative things. When I was in school, I used to do sketching and drawing. Later while pursuing engineering, I started assisting in a local theatre of Agra and in final year of engineering, I came to Mumbai and started learning about cinema world and in process of learning I came to know about the most interesting designation e.g. Creative Director. It was at that time itself that I decided to work in this field and after 6 months of internship in 2015, I started my first paid project "Kaisi Yeh Yaariyan" for Zee Zing.”

“This skill is gifted to me from my mother actually. She is good in creative things and I have learnt many things from her. I used to do decoration and arrangements on festivals. Being filmy in nature, used to do mimicry of some film actors. So basically this all encouraged me towards Bollywood. Later, I found direction suitable and good to me,” he added.

Speaking about working in this field and the challenges, Krishna elaborated, “After a lot of hard work and learning in previous 5 years, I have earned the designation of Creative Head and writer. My family had supported me a lot to achieve this. My dad trusts me like God and believes that you can achieve whatever you believe so I can assure myself to produce my own project in coming 4-5years. I am very friendly by nature so it becomes very easy for me to deal with artists in any manner. Sometimes we have to deal with unfavourable situations also but I know how to manage without hurting their sentiments, after all it's a part of a creative job.

Being a creative, you have to handle many departments at a time e.g. Costume, Makeup & Hair, Direction, Production, Art department etc. Your mind should be enough capable to think innovative. Basically creative job is a thankless job because if anything is awesome then the director and the art director has done it beautifully and if something goes wrong then what creative was doing at that time? So you have to be very focused towards your work.

But after all problems it's very satisfactory job also if we really do good by heart.”

Well said Krishna! (Also Read: Guddan Tumse Na Ho Payega, 6th October 2020, Written Update: Guddan doesn’t take money from Agastya)
