Director turned producer Arvind Babbal who is all set for the start of his show Mahakumbh (Arvind Babbal Production) on Life OK believes that the new trend on Indian television of having finite series is indeed good not only for the audiences and makers, but also for the actors.
Talking about his latest finite series Arvind commented, “My new show Mahakumbh, will be a thriller of one twenty episodes, in a very desi (native) style”.
In a recent conversation with the media, Arvind commented, “The new trend on Indian television of having finite series is an excellent approach. Every show should have a definite beginning and end; nothing should be stretched excessively. Even I prefer to do such shows.”
“Making a finite series is a challenge for both the director and actors. For any finite series, within a certain period of time a character has to be developed completely and it is really a challenge for an actor to make that character convincing enough,” added Arvind.
Arvind went on to add, “In case of an infinite series even the audience sometimes starts losing interest. One more advantage of doing a finite series is that the quality of work can be maintained till the last episode.”
“Unlike my earlier shows where I direct only the initial episodes, I will direct the entire series in Mahakumbh. Hence, I will try to deliver my best work and hope that I will be able to keep my audience’s interest intact.”
Best of luck, team Mahakumbh!!
