MUMBAI: Along with doing TV shows such as Bepannah Pyaar, Kalash - Ek Vishwaas, and other web shows, actress Aparna Dixit says that she wants to be known for doing different kinds of roles. The actress says that on TV she only takes up a role that she is sure about because a TV show requires a long-term commitment.

Aparna, who made her debut in 2013 with Mahabharat, was last seen two years back in the TV show Pyaar Ki Luka Chuppi. Since then, she has been trying her luck in different mediums. She says, “I am actually waiting for the right kind of story, the right character and budget to fall in place. I have been doing TV for quite some time and now I want to choose a character of my choice along with a decent budget.”

“As an actor, we have to sign a contract which is why I feel that I should be completely satisfied with the character, storyline, production house, and the budget. So that's the reason why I thought of experimenting on a different platform to understand the working style there. And working on a web show requires a short-term commitment of 20-25 days,” she concluded.

The Porus actress adds that getting the right kind of role on TV is not easy and it all depends on luck. “It is difficult to get a role of your choice because it's not necessary that you always like the character that has been narrated to you. Patience is the key, especially as an actor one needs to be really calm at times,” she says.

Aparna now wants to grey characters, something that she has never tried before. She says, “I have always got a positive role to play. I love doing that because the audience showers love for such positive characters. But I definitely want to explore a grey character as well, because the content on TV has changed now and even the audience."
