Well, amid all the trolls and exciting tracks of Anupamaa we rang Leela aka Alpana Buch to know more about the actress's personal life, doing projects with hubby Mehul Buch and more.
Do you ever wish to work with Mehul sir in the same show?
Mehul and I prefer not to work in the same show, although we did two Gujarati films together, both of us have a different way of working so we think it's better to not work in the same show. Talking about personal time, it has been quite a long time since we have been in the industry. We often plan a long drive and go for a coffee or share an ice cream.
Who has been your closest person in the family? Tell us something about that person
My daughter Bhavya has been my closest person, she is our world. Well, she studied interior design and for a year she has been working with the well known Durgaprasad Mahapatra, with him she did projects like Radhe, Rashmi Rocket and now she is travelling for Vikram Vedha. She is taking my father's legacy ahead in Art Direction.
We suggested that as there are diverse professions needed to create a film in her family itself, it would be interesting to see what could come up to which she replied, "I never thought it like this but yes, my brother Sanjay Chhel could manage the script, songs and directions, Bhavya would design the set and Mehul and I can manage acting and production so yes, we could surely make a project from our home production."
Tell us something about your offscreen bond with Rupali Ganguly
Whenever we both have the same call time, we go to work together. Rupali and I share a really tight bond, whenever I cook something special I make sure to take it a little extra for her. She is fond of sweets so I make sure to take them for her. Rupali and I are the same saas bahu offsets as well, I often scold her for not keep her room tidy, for being a little careless and she keeps complaining that I nudge like her husband, hahaha but it is all about the love and care that we have for each other.
