These days, she is ruling the television screen with her performance in the serial Sanjog.

She had also been part of the biggest reality show Bigg Boss Season 7, and she was one of the strongest contestants in the house. Her elimination shocked many, as everyone thought she would be the winner of the show.

Kamya has always been vocal about all the seasons and she keeps giving out her views to the audience through social media.

TellyChakkar got in touch with the actor to talk about her character in Sanjog, the injuries on set and much more.

Actors on television are now getting to explore, especially since we have come a long way from a damsel lady to doing action and stunts, and your character is something like that. What would you like to say?

It is really good because the scope for an actor has really gone up, we get to explore and what can be more satisfying than that. I really hope that audiences accept the new stories that are being shown because the kind of narrative of the bahu crying and having the saas-bahu crisis is monotonous. So, now when these strong female characters are coming up, who fight, and drive the cars and still manage their household, they are really inspiring to look upto. You see women are fighting for their rights and the changes that are coming up, it will be great if that also takes over the television. I think it has been a good change and God has been really kind that I got an opportunity to play a character like this.

How would you say that your character ties into the narrative of the strong women being portrayed?

My character Gauri is similar to what I described, she is responsible, tough and always ready to stand up for what is right. She is bindass and very dabang. To say so, I have done a lot of fight sequences and I rode a bike, so definitely a lot of improvement has happened as far as the script and characterization is concerned. It gives me an opportunity to do things that I have not done before.

You recently got injured on set while shooting, how did that happen?

I have been doing a lot of fight sequences from the start but still, sometimes these things just happen. We were shooting a fight scene between Gauri and Amrita and there were fight masters present. We took all the safety measures and shot the scene properly. It was after the scene that my leg got caught in Amrita’s saree and I fell. That's how I got this hairline fracture.

Kamya is currently seen on the show Sanjog on Zee TV playing the role of Gauri.
