Rishi Khurana is super busy these days. Reason? He is shooting round the clock for his show Saas Bina Sasural on Sony Entertainment wherein he plays the character of Ved.
“Currently, the track is revolving around my marriage. I am shooting 14 to 15 hours a day. Long night shifts are a problem for me as I don’t get time for my wife and 14-month old son.”
Hmm…we do understand, Rishi. Furthermore, talking more about the track, he says, “I hate to admit it but I don’t like the fact that my character is a coward who will ruin a girl’s life for his father’s happiness. I would have never done it in real life.”
Okay. So does it mean that Ved will dump Nitika (Shruti Bapna) at the altar for Kia (Rucha Gujarathi) as the promos suggest?
“Well, I don’t want to reveal what is going to happen but that is the kind of twist which is expected,” says the actor, who has done a few forgetful movies namely Shiney Ahuja starrer Sins and Kabhi Socha Bhi Na Tha and in television, was last seen in Choti Bahu.
Furthermore, Rishi says that the spiritual framework of his character is quite tough to internalize as compared to Ved, who believes in God, he believes in self effort. So is your character too innocent to not to know what happens in suhaag raat? “This is the exact question I also raised with my creatives and channel personnel and they said such people do exist. But on the other hand, I have met people who have told me that they have named their kids after Ved. I guess people want their children to have such fantasy traits which once did exist (satyug).”
Rishi, who has done Daman on Sahara and several other DD shows, also accepts that Saas Bina… which till now was a “slice of life show” has suddenly turned highly dramatic with the introduction of Kia, Ved and Nitika track.
“It has become difficult for me to step out of my house as people surround me demanding to know who I will marry. I think this hype resembles what had happened when Mihir died in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. So overall, I am happy with response. But I hope we don’t lose the light flavour of the show,” he ends.
