Sachin-Supriya to make 'musical dance oriented' film

The <em>Nach Baliye</em> winners are definitely not going to rest on their laurels. Sachin Pilgaonkar, child artiste turned actor turned producer, will soon launch a Marathi film, titled <em>Aamhi Satpute</em>, starring him and his dance partner-spouse Supriya. The film was conceived by Sachin earlier this year, but received a boost after the couple was selected to be part of <em>Nach Baliye</em> 16 weeks ago. Says Sachin, "<em>Nach Baliye</em> changed our entire mindset. Within six weeks of beginning our rehearsals, I had the entire first draft of the script written."

Adds an excited Supriya,"Earlier, we were not sure whether we would be appreciated for our dancing skills in the feature film. Now, though, there are no such qualms!" she laughs. The couple met on the sets of a Marathi film, Navri Mile Navryala, directed by Sachin, in the 1980s. They married soon after and did several other films together. "We had another dance opportunity in a later film Navra majha navsacha," she reveals, "but I was feeling squeamish about putting on our dancing shoes when we were no longer youthful!" The couple, which vouches for Apurva Agnihotri and Shilpa Saklani as its favourite Nach Baliye couple, is still unsure what it intends to do with the prize money. "I don't know!" giggles Supriya, "I am thinking up answers to that question even as you ask it. I guess that's why the most obvious answer is that we would use it for our daughter's education!" "I have been on pain killers ever since I began rehearsing for the show. My back problems and knee problems could not have been kept at bay otherwise. For all you know, I could end up spending the prize money on corrective surgeries," she jokes.
