Sai Deodhar was last seen in Nach Baliye with her husband Shakti Anand and now she only has a CID to fall back on. But Sai does not believe in sitting idle and is all set to make a documentary film on social issues.
"I've been working on some scripts lately and I had gone out with my team comprising 10 members to various places in Konkan (read Dapoli, coastal Maharashtra) but eventually the project got shelved as we could not shoot properly due to lack of electricity, heavy downpour. In fact, we even got lost. So all in all, it was a bad experience, rather a complete disaster," says Sai, about her film making experience.
The only child of filmmaker parents, Shrabani and Debu Deodhar, Sai has grown up on a staple of film and theatre. She got into television with Saara Akaash, where she met and married co-artist Shakti Anand.
Now, the story she is working on is a 40 minute short film about an aged bar dancer and her relationship with a young boy. For Sai, it is going to be a tough act to put the story together as there are no dance bars left in the city.
She is busy researching, reading up for her story and wants to be super sure of everything related to her film, she says.
By the end of December, Sai wants to start shooting for her film in Mumbai and Pune and wants her films to get into the International Film Festivals.
