MUMBAI: The grand premiere of Indian Idol brings an iconic nostalgic moment for all the music lovers as Shreya Ghoshal and Jaspinder Narula reunited on the grand premiere of the new season of Indian Idol to perform “More Piya” from Devdas, first time revisiting the classic duet in 23 years.
Originally composed by Ismail Darbar with lyrics by Sameer Anjaan, “More Piya” remains one of the most cherished tracks from Devdas (2002), a film that also marked Ghoshal’s breakthrough in Bollywood playback singing. These two powerhouse voices recreated the timeless melody, blending nostalgia with live musical brilliance.
Making a special appearance on the grand premiere episode of Indian Idol, Jaspinder Narula shared "People who say real singing has disappeared from TV — they clearly haven’t watched Indian Idol!
