Star India gears up for the biggest I-Day celebration with B-town and TV stars...for a noble cause

Saath Hai Hum...Uttarakhand
The stage is set for Television’s biggest Independence Day spectacle with Star India’s popular channels hosting a gala event with Hindi film industry’s iconic stars and television’s most celebrated actors. The stars will give an enthralling performance as part of efforts to raise resources to aid rehabilitation in flood-hit Uttarakhand. As our readers would know, Tellychakkar.com has been continuously reporting about the seven hour long marathon event, Saath Hain Hum Uttarakhand, presented by Lifebuoy and a joint initiative of Star India, Film & Television Producers Guild, FWICE and Wizcraft. Along with giving viewers a generous dose of entertainment it will appeal to people to help with the rehabilitation efforts in the hill-state. We now bring you a low-down of the stars and their acts you can look forward to in the event that promises to be the biggest Independence Day spectacle in India. Firstly the biggies of B-Town, Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, A R Rahman, Vidya Balan and Kajol will play an important part in the event. We had also reported about Madhuri Dixit and Salman Khan helping with the initiative in their own special ways. The event will have different celebrities hosting the segments. Along with King Khan, Kajol, Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Singh and Anas Rashid (lead pair of Diya Aur Baati Hum) will be seen taking the podium. Also the brave hearts of the Indian Air Force, who went beyond the call of duty to help the victims and lost their lives, will also be felicitated. Talking about it the very good looking Anas says, “This is a very noble effort on the part of Star India, and I am pretty excited to host a segment in the event. Although I haven’t yet been briefed about the details, this definitely will be a grand spectacle for the viewers.” Revered names of silver-screen will take part in exclusive acts for the mesmerising evening that is bound to leave viewers craving for more. As reported earlier the highlight of this magical evening will be a rare collaboration between Indian cinema’s biggest star Amitabh Bachahan, writer & poet Prasoon Joshi and talented composer trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. Bachchan will give voice to Prasoon’s heartwarming lines set on the music of the musical trio. Also Oscar-winning maestro AR Rahman will set some of his most inspirational songs to a unique acapella style, a form of rhythm singing without instruments. Versatile actor-singer Ayushmann Khuranna will also perform a song composed exclusively for the event. Along with a soulful musical journey, a line of entertaining acts have also been planned. The super hot TV actors Kapil Nirmal, Karen Tacker, Mohammad Nazim along with Rithvik Dhanjani will pay an emotional tribute to the Indian defence forces through their inspirational song and dance act. Talking about the performance, Kapil says, “It will be a superb performance and am sure people are going to love it. I performed after a long time and this act was a very different one. We performed on a skit, with dance and action in it; overall a complete drama session.” Also Sneha Wagh, Devoleena Bhattacharjee, Kanika Maheshwari, Ishita Dutta and Rahul Sharma will be in never-seen-before avatars. A source also informs us that Sargun Mehta and Rithvik Dhanjani have replaced Pooja Joshi and Karan Mehra respectively. Speaking on the event Uday Shankar, CEO Star India, avers, “The initiative has enlisted support from the icons of Indian cinema and the superstars of the television world who will use their collective efforts to reach out to the masses for support, yet again through television.” The event will be broadcast live on Star India’s key channels including Star Plus, Star Utsav, Star Pravah, Life OK and Channel V and the advertising revenue will be channelled to relief work in the hill-state through two civil society organizations -- Himmotthan Society and People's Science Institute. Star India’s initiative is an extension of its philosophy to use television as a tool to create awareness for the larger good of the society. The event will encourage its viewers across the globe to lend their support and donate generously for the cause through several dedicated channels. So tune your TV sets to any of the above mentioned channel at 12pm for an entertaining seven hour event and contribute for this noble cause.
