Lubna Salim and Rajeev Mehta will be seen in a new avatar altogether, this Saturday in Baa Bahoo Aur Baby. Lubna who plays the role of Leela and Rajeev who plays Arvind have shot for a dance scene in the show. Lubna has enacted Sharmila Tagore and Rajeev has replicated popular styles of Rajesh Khanna on the track of Kora Kaagaz. It is a dream sequence. Filmy Leela upset with her unromantic husband dreamt of grooving with him like the superstars of seventies. JD Majethia co-producer of Baa Bahoo Aur Baby known for giving fulfilling work to the actors said, “The dance sequence is going to be the most interesting and talked about thing of this show. It has turned out to be exactly the way we wanted it to be. The scene is only two minutes long but a lot of effort has gone into it.” The scene was shot in the courtyard of the house but with a different set up. It has a dreamy look complete with snow fall. The most remarkable part of Baa Bahoo Aur Baby is that all the actors get a chance to perform equally. The tracks are designed in such a way that not just every actor becomes the focus of show turn by turn but they also get an opportunity to do something different. Lubna is very satisfied with her role and is feeling a sense of achievement as the sequence has been shot very beautifully. She said, “Every one worked really hard for it. I am known to behave like Hema Malini in the show but the creative team wanted me to be in an unexpected avatar. My hairstyle took three hours to set. I did my home work well. I watched a lot of Sharmila Tagore movies to emote like her. I wanted to drill my cheeks to get her dimples. My act was just so Sharmila Tagore. It was a lifetime experience.” Lubna and Rajeev have shot for a dream dance sequence earlier too where Lubna was Hema Malini and Rajeev played Sanjeev Kumar. Rajeev Mehta is a crazy fan of Rajesh Khanna. He used to watch his movies at the first day first show during his college days. He has grown up watching him and imitating him, so he did not have to put any effort to act like him. When asked if it was difficult to shake a leg like Rajesh Khanna, he said, “Rajesh Khanna was never a good dancer. I too was not supposed to dance well. It was more about acting.” The experience for Rajeev must have been as thrilling as it was for Lubna. He exuded, “It was a change for me. I had to act typically like Rajesh Khanna. I had to build the mannerisms of Rajesh Khanna in me.” For the moment our favourite TV stars are happy they lived a superstar’s life…albeit for just a few minutes.
