MUMBAI: Actress Shubhi Sharma recently spoke exclusively to TellyChakkar about celebrating Diwali with Rupali Ganguly and producers Nandita Mehra and Bhairavi Raichura. The transgender actress, known for her roles in popular shows like Anupamaa, Dhruv Tara, Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, Chaand Jalne Laga, Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya 2, Saavi Ki Savaari, and Nath, shared her joy and gratitude for the festive season.
Talking about performing Dhanteras Puja with Rupali Ganguly, Shubhi said that since this year Dhanteras and Shani Trayodashi coincided, it was considered a rare and highly auspicious event as it combined the blessings of wealth and health with the discipline and rewards of Lord Shani. She mentioned that she and Rupali ji performed special rituals together, seeking blessings from all deities. Calling Rupali her family, Shubhi added that festivals are meant to be spent with loved ones and wished Rupali good health, wealth, and success.
Shubhi was also seen performing Diwali Puja on the sets of her show Paro Sang Dev. She shared that she later joined her sisters Nandita and Bhairavi for Diwali Puja on the sets and that it felt wonderful reconnecting with the team. She appreciated co-actor Arjun, calling him a true gentleman and a good friend. Shubhi mentioned that she ended her Diwali evening at home with her extended family, including her niece, actress Saachi Tiwari, and her nephew, actor Aan, and expressed how much she enjoyed celebrating Diwali in Mumbai this year.
Reflecting on the significance of the festival, Shubhi said that for transgenders, Diwali is about sharing blessings, as they are considered forms of Goddess Lakshmi. She expressed gratitude for the way people have accepted and respected her, adding that though her journey hasn’t been easy, the love and support she receives keep her going. She also revealed that she is in talks for her next project and will start shooting soon after Diwali, while looking forward to celebrating her favorite festival, Chhath Puja.
Extending her festive wishes, Shubhi said she hopes this festival of lights fills everyone’s life with warmth, joy, and prosperity. Shubhi Sharma’s growing presence in the entertainment industry stands as a powerful symbol of visibility, inclusivity, and breaking barriers on national television.
