She was the face of youth, fashion and style.Champion of animals, ambitious, yet grounded in realities. She also, ultimately, became a dream that went sour. In an age where relationships define a person, and larger than life images have to be lived up to, Nafisa Joseph fell victim.
Unlike many Miss Indias before and after her, Nafisa did not fall prey to the lure of big screen Bollywood. She stuck to veejaying, setting her own style on MTV as the 'Housefull' VJ and went on to host her own show on Star World, Style. Style completed its run on 30 May.

A few months ago, she even said in an interview that she had launched her own TV programme production outfit, Two's Entertainment. Crowned Miss India when she was just 18 in 1997, she had been recently quoted as saying that although there was a lot of competition in the entertainment sector, she was now taking her career to a different level.
What may have been, will now never be. We will miss you, Nafisa. RIP.
