All is certainly not well on the sets of Sony Entertainment Television’s show Love Marriage Ya Arranged Marriage (Sphere Origins). First came reports of male lead Ashish Kapoor quitting the project over script issues. Of course, he later went on to deny it. But the latest info we have learnt from our sources is that some of the other lead actors are also not happy with the screenplay and dialogues. It is believed the glitch occurred when some of the dialogues were found to have double meaning. When we called up the lead girls Rishika Mihani and Samaira Rao, they denied any problems with the script and dialogues. Rishika rejected this argument downright saying, “How can you expect double meaning dialogues in a family show? Rather some of them were pure and heavy Hindi as our characters hail from small towns of this country.” Tell that TRP (0.7) numbers were on the lower side and both felt that the real action will only start now. “Till now we were going fast for we had to bring the story to the point where the real conflict of what happens in a love or arranged marriage.” added Rishika. Samaira on her part also agreed that, “one of the reasons why the initial numbers have not rocked could be that we have to face stiff competition on the 8 .30 pm slot (Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai on Star Plus). We then called up producer Sunjoy Wadhwa for more clarity and he said, “There is an issue with the numbers. We are trying to spike up the ratings with interesting tracks in the short term. Our show is only such that we don’t have high drama which leads to easy ratings.” We then asked him about reports that one of his leads wanted to quit? “I too have heard of such rumours, but they are untrue.” However, Sunjoy here added that, “even if someone wants to quit, he can for replacements are no big deal in the TV industry.” He also rejected charges that actors were unhappy with the scripts saying, “Such loose talk does happen when the numbers are down.” A fly on the wall even quipped that the channel is not happy with the numbers and is pushing Sunjoy to do something about it. All our attempts to reach Sneha Rajani, Business Head, Sony TV, proved futile.
