MUMBAI: The Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal starrer web series is one of the much-awaited OTT shows. The second season of Mirzapur aired in October 2020. Since then, ardent fans have been patiently waiting for the third season.

The team at Prime Video announced a month and a half ago at an event that Mirzapur 3 would indeed be coming this year. However, there has been complete silence about the release of the show on the streaming platform. Recently, there were reports that Mirzapur 3 may release after IPL 2024, which has left fans excited. However, there's a huge possibility that the above speculations may not be true at all, and here's why we feel so.

After much speculation and delay, Prime Video recently announced that Jitendra Kumar's Panchayat 3 will be streaming from May 28, 2024. May 26, 2024, will be the day when IPL 2024's final match will be conducted, after which Prime Video will release Panchayat on May 28. Now, there have been strong speculations that along with Panchayat 3, the Prime Video team may also release Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal starrer Mirzapur 3 after IPL 2024.

However, to think straight, the possibility of this is very low. No streaming platform will release two of its biggest web series close to each other. As Panchayat 3 will already be releasing in the end week of May, the streaming platform will maintain a good gap between both the shows. Chances are Mirzapur 3 may be released either at the end of the year or during the festive seasons of Diwali and Ganesh Chaturthi. But releasing it after IPL 2024, along with or around Panchayat 3, is not a great strategy and is not something we think the Prime Video team will be interested to follow.

Apart from Panchayat 3, Mirzapur 3, Prime Video is heavily cashing in on viewers' anticipation of Family Man 3 and Patal Lok 2. It would be interesting to see if all these web series can bring in the same popularity as their previous seasons did.
