Never played any sports in childhood due to my weight - Arjun Kapoor

Arjun Kapoor
Arjun Kapoor may look fit and fabulous today but that was not the case when he was a kid for weight issues troubled him all throughout. Weighing over a 100 kilos, life was practically tough for Arjun who due to obesity missed out playing sports while normal kids used to indulge in the same. Arjun himself admitted the same yesterday at the launch of Tevar's trailer. "I never played sports because of my weight in my childhood," said Arjun. Thankfully, a film career beckoned and Arjun had to knock off those extra pounds. And he achieved the same with some little help from Bollywood's bhai, Salman Khan. Today with a toned body and bulging muscles, Arjun is fit enough to play any sport in the world. Interestingly, the actor will be seen playing Kabbadi in Tevar. Talking about the sport, Arjun said, "I was never a sportsman by nature so I have worked harder. For the film I had to take special training and rehearsed hard as well. Kabbadi is a very difficult sport to play. You need a lot of stamina and a certain ability to play the game. I am happy that Kabbadi has been encouraged and promoted and I hope the game gets its due in a small way through Tevar." Tevar is also first time when Arjun collaborated with his father Boney Kapoor for a film. Said Arjun, "As an actor I have done every film the same way. In this film I have eventually submitted to Amit Sharma's vision (director). Never thought that this is my father’s film. An actor should have the integrity of giving his best in every film. As a human being my emotion quotient is very high in this film. I always wanted to do a film for which my family will be proud for me. Now the end result will be the hands of the audience. I have enjoyed the process but this time my attachment is a little more." Explaining why it took him two years to work with his father, Arjun said, "I do not want to be my family's weakness. I always wanted to establish myself first and then work with my home production. In the last two years, people have appreciated my work. The films have done well and that created a platform for to work in my home production. My debut film was with Yash Raj Films and who will say no to a YRF film. And I was in sync with my dad also. Everything has a time to happen." Tevar was shot in Agra for 27 days and in Mathura for 22 days. The movie also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Manoj Bajpai and Raj Babbar and will release on 9 January 2014.
